The Parkview is strategically situated at the doorstep of the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, on the banks of the Cheticamp River. We are in the heartland of Acadian hospitality with the Cabot Trail in our backyard, one of the world's most awe inspiring drives. Regardless of your destination time, spring, summer, fall or winter, the Cabot Trail is an adventure through 181 miles of majestic scenery and vistas. Springtime offers a tranquil time to visit the area and tour the Cabot Trail as the trees begin to bud and the flowers begin to bloom; the fresh scent of the ocean will cleanse your soul. |

| In summer, there are numerous activities to enjoy, but the most obvious place to be with the family is on one of the many beaches in the area enjoying the surf and the fresh air. In the fall, the colours are a true masterpiece with the orange, yellow and reds of the sugar maples and hardwoods. Our Indian summer, as well, offers a more tranquil time of year to visit at a leisurely pace. |

| The festival summer season brings relatives as well as visitors home, seeking the homespun frolicking and toe tapping cadences of the French & Scottish reels, fiddles and jigs. Le Festival de l' Escaouette is held every August, offering Acadian music, food, folklore and festive activities. If you enjoy the camaraderie and competition of the game of golf, then take advantage of the fact that you are but a couple of minutes away from one of the 'fabulous foursome' of Cape Breton Island- Le Portage Golf Club- a challenging 18-hole course nestled between the mountains and the ocean. Enjoy the panoramic views as you tee off !!! For the history buff, the Cabot Trail hosts a myriad of local exhibit centers and historic monuments for you to view, visit and appreciate. In Cheticamp, you will notice a distinctive white building with blue trim and a red roof having the star of Mary above its doorway. You have arrived at - Les Trois Pignons - a museum and Acadian genealogical center which houses a collection of Elizabeth LeFort's rug hooking masterpieces along with works from other skilled artisans of the area. L'glise St- Pierre is also a must visit...erected in 1893 with stones, hauled over the harbour ice by horse and sleigh, from Cheticamp Island.
